Posted by: shiroipanda on: November 11, 2008

Objectives:

  • To minimize the communication cost in the firm.
  • To create an alternative way to making phone call.
  • To expand the option to communicate for collaboration internally, with business alliance, and to provide convenience for customer who want to deal with us through VOIP system.
  • To create a cost effective way for calling abroad or oversea.

Progress so far: In the process of making a decision, whether to select which candidate will be implemented or adopted to an enterprise.

Details:

These below are all candidates that we have right now:

Note: After a month of seeking and acquiring information about VOIP, in initially it seems that implementation by using Skype application coordinate with Headset, Skype Phone: A device that look like mobile phone, and Skype Gateway: A device that will connect to the PABX so that it will allow users to use Skype’s VOIP services through ordinary phone is the most cost effective way. It’s also pretty easy to implement and maintain the system.

The price for using Skype services is listed here, since the Thai concurrency is not preferred, in order to purchase, we have to purchase in US dollars:

But now a brand new VOIP services from True Corporation just came out recently, it is also a good candidate, the concept just like the Skype but this one is organize domestically by True Corporation (Thailand). This service is called “NetTalk“. So I decided to use this candidate in order to supporting my country.

The price of NetTalk services is listed here.

Conclusion: For me I think we should mix and match between implementing Skype and NetTalk because of it difference characteristic.

Previous discussion is available here.
